JUSTICE IS SERVED ATLAST.

If this is what justice in South Africa looks like, then I am in love with it!!!

Thabo Bester

Thabo Bester also known as the "Facebook rapist" was sentenced to life in prison on Monday, 12 August 2012 at the Western Cape High Court (Reported on IOL news). The charges that took the final straw on him were those of luring and murdering Nomfundo Tyhulu September last year. Bester and Nomfundo met in Sandton last year where she worked as a car dealer. Bester was there at the dealership and he purchased a BMW car.

He is now called a Facebook rapist as he used the site to his advantage to lure young girls who are looking for jobs. This has become a common thing for criminals to use social networks as a tool for them to assault and kill girls. He also used this site to take advantage of needy girls to assault and rape them.

Bester has been charged with other criminal offences before such as:

· 50 years in prison for raping and robbing two models
· 15 years for each count of rape
· 15 years for on each count of robbery
· 5 years of each robbery sentence was dropped

Stop Abuse Campaign

A Public Relations campaign will be done to send out a message to other rapists who are doing the same thing. Justice is there and coming to get all of them as it has done to Thabo Bester. Let us fight against women and children abuse. HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH.

  1. More campaigns needs to be done about the risk of meeting a person whom you met on Social networks, people need to be told that they should be aware and not take everthinh said by that person on facebook seriously.

    1. I strongly believe that too Lucky, some people still thinks that the social networks are not dangerous and they are dead wrong. They have become the target the most. As Public Relations Practitioners it is up to us to change that.

  2. With so many young girls being raped everyday, such campaigns are needed to help decrease the high rate of women being rapedand to put the culprits behind bars.

  3. This man is sick and I think that our country is perceived as a murdern capital. He should just rot in jail and the keys must be trhown away to make sure that he never sees the sun ever again. Criminals like hime should face the music and I still think that he was supposed to be assessinated for such crime he got himself into. He is a monster and sick... I just wish that death sentence should be brought back to South Africa maybe this will be a safer place to live

  4. Loyiso, what you are emphasising is true. South Africa is now well known of crime, rape, drugs, etc. I strongly feel that it is up to us to change that and together as the practitioners we will.

  5. I was happy to know that the law had taken its course in that rapist's case! I just wish such could happen for all those criminals out there, not just where media is involved!

  6. Thank God he was sentenced for life, the charges he's facing are just ridiculous. More of such campaigns are needed in order to bring down the sick people we come across in South Africa.

  7. @ Mbalenhle, every individual using social media should always be aware of the risks involved with the particular social media to be used. The campaighn to be used is a great idea, however citizens need to take responsibility of who they decide to meet with.

  8. Mpho that is true, now things have changed. It is not like before and the way social networks are dangerous it is so scary. We will achieve our objective as PRP's to fight against child abuse.
